Meet the artist

Staysean Daley

Staysean is a visual artist, educator, and beekeeper, living a life infused with creativity, colour, and a little sweetness. Her work is rooted in storytelling, inspired by the vibrant textures of Jamaican culture, and guided by curiosity, connection, and emotion.

Through bold illustrations, expressive paintings, and vibrant prints, Staysean explores themes of movement, vulnerability, and the beauty of life. While the female form is a recurring subject—captured in charcoal, ink, and pastels—her work also embraces symbolism and shared experiences, including motifs like bees, sisterhood, and community.

“I’m endlessly fascinated by the ways the body and symbols hold memory, emotion, and power. My pieces celebrate intimacy, strength, and the mystery found in both the feminine form and the connections that unite us, often blurring the line between realism and abstraction.”

Whether you’re here to explore the stories behind my work or shop pieces that speak to you, I invite you to dive into this creative space. Let’s connect, reflect, and bring a touch of emotion and beauty into your life.

Let’s make something meaningful. Just for you.

FAQs

I want multiple figures in the same painting

For small portraits of more than one person/animal, there can be an extra fee per additional figure:

+ 20% per animal

+ 40% per human

This will be calculated depending on the portrait complexity and size. For example, in big portraits usually there's no extra fee.

How much time does this take?

⭐️HOLIDAYS:

I will be accepting commissions for holidays until June 6th. Digital commissions will be accepted up to June 16.

Speed can be adjusted to your needs.

If we're in a hurry, like holidays, I can finish a commission much sooner!

For normal times, a month for the whole process: we talk, plan, I paint, we talk again, make changes if needed, dry time, varnish time, dry again, certificate, goodies, packing and shipping :)

How's payment done? Can I do instalments?

Once we agree in all the details, I'll send you the invoice with the payment link. You can choose between debit/credit card, PayPal, Direct deposit, wire transfers.

Payment is made upfront but you can set up instalments with Paypal.

Can I choose format/materials?

Depending on the size, I'll choose the best materials for the painting. While my preference may be charcoal or watercolour paper, we can also use cotton or linen canvas, wooden panel, oil paper. Of course, you can suggest which one you prefer so we can consider this beforehand.

This doesn't fit my budget :( what can I do?

No stress! If you have a specific budget we can wiggle the numbers by adjusting the size, the format, materials, making it digital.

We can also split the payment and you can secure your commission until you've comfortably paid.

Just let me know your needs :)
